Shizuka and David, San Francisco 6.9.10

I kept forgetting that yesterday was a weekday when I met Shizuka and David at San Francisco City Hall for their wedding because there was so much activity downtown! The days of the week just sort of seem to blend together. And, even though it is a bit of a cliche', big cities like San Francisco truly are such a cultural melting pot. Shizuka is from Japan, and David from Spain. Many of their friends who accompanied them were also from cities around the globe. As we they waited in the halls to sign their marriage certificate, a few of their friends held laptops with live connections to each of their families in Japan and Spain. During the ceremony, the computers "stood" as guests in the circle with the rest of us. It was pretty special for the two of them to have their families with them in some way!

Anyone who has ever studied photography knows that part of the art and skill of creating a body of work is often doing it with as few images as possible. The theory being that less strong images dilute the better ones. Well, I'm completely breaking the rules here because I LOVE this set! I'm really learning the story telling process of a wedding, and I feel like each of these images plays such an important role in their day! OKAY, maybe I just think some of them are pretty!

Enjoy!
